Making Something Happen - The 'Another Way In' Case Studies ‘I did know something and I did have something to offer’ was what Irene Kavanagh realised on being asked to teach some night classes ('Making Something Happen' arts volunteer) ‘Another Way In’ is a two-year pilot cross-border project from Voluntary Arts Ireland aimed at promoting volunteering and participation. To date there have been three Up4Arts events - most recently in Ballyshannon (22nd May).
The first, Carrosyl Up 4 Arts day, took place in July 2009. The day was organised by the Management Committee of Carrosyl with the assistance of ‘Another Way In’ and local arts practitioners volunteered their time and talents. These inspiring ‘Making Something Happen’ case studies give you a flavour of the joy and benefits arts volunteering has brought to five of the local arts practitioners who volunteered to be tutors / facilitators at the Up for Arts Day, 25th July 2009. |
